From baked-on condensate in paint shop dryers to heavy deposits in process piping. Two recent projects demonstrate how laser cleaning and high-pressure water jetting can restore equipment performance without the need for dismantling or costly replacement.

Baked-on condensate gradually accumulates inside automotive paint shop dryers. However, this is not merely a cleanliness issue. If not removed regularly, it can drip onto vehicle bodies and cause paint defects, generate particles that adhere to uncured surfaces, and create the need for additional sanding and rework. In extreme cases, it may also pose a fire risk.
During the plant-wide shutdown of a major client, our specialists carried out laser cleaning of the dryer’s interior. Over 55 hours, they cleaned nearly 223 m² of surface area using a 1,000 W laser system.
As the dryer could not be dismantled, all work was performed directly on site. The laser equipment was transported into the dryer using material handling machinery.
Laser cleaning enabled the precise removal of baked-on condensate without damaging the underlying surface, helping to reduce future contamination build-up. The benefits extend beyond a cleaner piece of equipment to include improved safety, more reliable operation, and a lower risk of production-related issues.
A different type of contamination was addressed in a process piping system where heavy deposits had accumulated over the years, significantly restricting flow capacity.
In this case, our team used high-pressure water jetting at pressures of up to 2,500 bar together with a specialized high-pressure pipeline cleaning tool. All work was again carried out directly at the customer’s facility.
Thanks to the selected cleaning technology, the deposits were successfully removed and the full flow capacity of the piping restored without the need for costly replacement. The system is now ready for continued operation.
